Anasazi Slider app for iPhone and iPad

Anasazi Slider is a puzzle game with Anasazi-related images from the southwestern United States. The 24 images show a variety of scenes from ranging from Anasazi rock art (petroglyphs and pictographs) to structures, such as dwellings, kivas, and granaries. Some of the images are from well-known locations, while others are from little-visited backcountry areas. Image include:

• The Holy Ghost panel from Canyonlands National Park
• Rock Art featuring sheep, buffalo, birds and other animals
• A hunting scene
• Kivas
• Granaries
• Snake motifs
• Hand and foot prints

(If you’ve got an archaeologist in your family, you’ll discover that the images are from the Anasazi, Fremont and Archaic cultures. However, since the term Anasazi is the most well known, we have named the game Anasazi Slider.)

When you need a break from the office, the kids, the TV, or just life in general and want to remember your last trip to Anasazi country—or daydream about your next trip there—here’s a simple and enjoyable way to do that. Or, if you want your family to see and learn to love the Anasazi culture and the southwest, where that culture flourished, here is an easy way to accomplish that.

The three game levels -- Easy (2x2), Medium (3x3), and Hard (4x4) –- appeal to a broad range of players, from pre-school children to adults. The object is to rearrange the jumbled puzzle pieces into their correct places by sliding (or tapping) an adjacent puzzle piece to move it into the empty spot on the game board. Continuing moving the pieces around until you’ve assembled them all in the correct places.

The game is accompanied by fun sounds that reward puzzle completion. The sounds are OFF every time you start the game in case the game is being played in a public place, such as a meeting.
